2022 Bassmaster Kayak Series Championship Day 2 Recap

Day 1 ended in dramatic fashion with anglers vying for the top spot going into Day 2, with anglers who looked to be in trouble posting limits after lines out. With Catch, Photo, Release (CPR) events that is a common happenstance where anglers in bad cell coverage areas will need to wait until they are off the water to upload their catches. Although sometimes this is a strategy we like to call "sandbagging" and generally the "I didn't have a connection" excuse is rarely taken as honest regardless of whether it is or not. Whats competition without a little soap opera drama mixed in? Now let's get to today's action update!

Day 2 started out with a bang for Justin Largen out of Virginia with a quick 74.75" to give him the lead. By 9 AM, the field was catching up with Canada's Antoine D.Gagnon just 1.25" behind, and Bassmaster Elite Pro Mike Iaconelli showing a quick 75.25" limit as well.

Mid-morning Eric Siddiqi of Cincinnati, OH once again filled out an impressive morning limit of 90.5" jetting him into the lead above Largen as more anglers started filling limits and started their crawl up the leaderboard.

Before noon, Eric had culled up another 1.5" and Illinois angler Jake Shultz showed a good day brewing with 85.5". In second place was Chris Walters from Tennessee with 172.75" followed by Largen who was able to cull up 3" to get up to 168.5".

Before the board was taken offline John Milchling repeated and jumped back into the overall lead with an impressive 187.75" jumping ahead of Siddiqi who was sitting at 185.25". 3rd place was Walters 12.75" off the lead with 175".

We will have to wait to find out if these anglers were able to hold on to the top spots or if fellow anglers were able to overcome between 1pm and 2:45pm! The winners and awards will be announced Friday, March 4th on the Bassmaster Classic stage in Greenville, SC!
